Product Details

Workhorse Contract Leather is a protected top-grain water buffalo leather built for one job: surviving high-traffic seating. A consistent, durable finish and a tight natural pebble grain give you an even surface that cuts clean with outstanding yield — and shrugs off daily use in restaurants, hotels, offices, medical waiting areas, and vehicles.

How much is a hide? Buffalo hides run 36–42 sq ft — roughly 2–2.25 yards of 54″ upholstery fabric per hide, using the trade rule of 18 sq ft of hide per yard of fabric to allow for cutting around the hide’s natural shape. Not sure how many hides your job needs? Call us and we’ll figure it with you.

A note on natural leather: Leather is a natural product — every hide carries its own grain, markings, and character, and no two hides are identical. Dye lots can vary from hide to hide, and screen settings shift how colors render on your monitor. Hide sizes vary within the listed range. We strongly recommend ordering a sample before committing to a hide — call 336-887-3101 and we’ll get one headed your way.
