Carolyn Fabrics supplies a flat, CNC-stitched upholstery component made with your selected face material, thread, and optional backing sew foam. It is not a finished seat cover or ready-to-install upholstery.

How the Component Fits the Work
- Plan from the cover or upholstery pattern. Account for seams, material direction, placement, and a reasonable project allowance.
- Choose the face material and stitch design. Confirm the selected material's current product specifications are appropriate for the intended application.
- Choose the thread and optional backing sew foam. Backing sew foam supports stitched definition; it is not the structural cushion foam inside a seat.
- Build the finished piece. Lay out, cut, and sew the flat stitched panel into the cover or assembly, then complete the upholstery work required by the project.
Common Applications
Shops use flat stitched panels as components in automotive, marine, motorcycle, RV, golf-cart, furniture, and commercial upholstery projects. Possible placements include seat-cover inserts, door and side panels, consoles, bench backs, cushions, and other decorative sections.
Suitability depends on the selected material, the finished construction, and the project's requirements. Confirm the named product's current specifications before ordering for a regulated or unusually demanding application.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a finished cover or ready-to-install seat upholstery?
No. It is a flat stitched component. It normally must be measured, cut, and sewn into a complete cover or upholstered assembly.
Does backing sew foam replace seat-cushion foam?
No. Optional backing sew foam helps create raised stitched definition behind the face material. It is not the structural foam that supports the seat.
Where do I find current sizes and options?
Use the individual pattern or quick-order product page. The options shown there control what can be ordered online. Use the custom quote form for requirements that are not listed.
Can I order matching material and thread?
Available face-material and thread choices appear on the applicable product page. Matching yardage and upholstery thread can also be selected from Carolyn Fabrics' current material and supply collections.
