Why open a trade account?
90+ years of material experience
Get help from a family supplier that has worked with upholstery materials and professional buyers since 1932.
Free vinyl and leather matching
We help compare the vinyl or leather you have with current options at no charge. Call or email us to start the conversation.
Product advice from a real person
Talk with us about the job, the material, and the related supplies before you buy.
Past-order support
We keep your purchase history on file so we can help identify what you bought before.
Easier repeat ordering
When you need the same material again, call or email us and we can start from the order already on file.
Coordinate your shipping account
For eligible call-in orders, you may coordinate use of your own shipping account. Confirm the carrier and billing arrangement with us before ordering; availability depends on the order and shipment.
Order-specific bulk quotes
Bulk pricing may be available after an order-specific quote review, including for qualifying LTL shipments. Material, quantity, stock, and ship-to details determine the available quote and shipping options; not every order qualifies.
The Carolyn standard
We try to treat every customer the way Carolyn would want to be treated: listen, give a straight answer, and make the next order easier than the first.
How ordering works
Once your account is approved, you may continue to order through the website. For product help or a repeat order, call 336-887-3101 or email orders@carolynfabrics.com. Before ordering, ask us if you want to coordinate use of your own shipping account or request an order-specific bulk quote, including for a qualifying LTL shipment; both are arranged case by case. Payment is due at purchase by credit card; a trade account is not a credit line or net-terms account.
Tax Exemption
Submitting tax information does not automatically make the account tax-exempt. We review the information and may request a completed resale or exemption certificate before approving tax-exempt purchases. Sales tax remains applicable until approval is confirmed.
What Happens Next
- You submit the application.
- We review the business and any tax information provided.
- We contact you if we need anything else.
- We confirm when the trade account is open and whether tax-exempt status has been approved.

Trade Account Questions
Is a Carolyn Fabrics trade account a wholesale discount program?
No. A trade account is primarily a service and repeat-order relationship. It keeps your business and purchase history on file and gives you direct help with matching, product selection, and reorders. Bulk pricing is handled through a separate, order-specific quote process, including qualifying LTL shipments; it is not applied automatically to every trade account or order.
Is vinyl and leather matching really free?
Yes. Carolyn Fabrics provides vinyl and leather matching help at no charge. Call 336-887-3101 or email orders@carolynfabrics.com to explain what you are trying to match, and we will tell you what information we need to compare current options.
How do I place orders after my account is approved?
You may continue to order on the website. For product help or a repeat order, call 336-887-3101 or email orders@carolynfabrics.com so we can start from the information and past orders on file. Payment is due at purchase by credit card; trade accounts do not include credit or net terms.
Can I use my own shipping account?
For eligible call-in orders, customers may coordinate use of their own shipping account. Contact Carolyn Fabrics before ordering to confirm the carrier, billing arrangement, and shipment details. Availability is order-specific and does not guarantee freight savings.
When is bulk pricing available?
Bulk pricing may be available for qualifying LTL shipments after an order-specific quote review. If you are buying five or more rolls, contact Carolyn Fabrics with the material, quantity, and ship-to details so we can confirm the available quote and shipping options. Opening a trade account does not automatically apply bulk pricing, and not every order qualifies.
Does a trade account automatically make my purchases tax-exempt?
No. Tax-exempt status is reviewed separately and may require a completed resale or exemption certificate. Sales tax remains applicable until Carolyn Fabrics confirms approval.
What happens after I apply?
Carolyn Fabrics reviews the business information and any tax information provided. We contact you if anything else is needed and confirm when the account is open. The application does not create an account automatically.
