Care and cleaning
One of the best ways to keep Carolyn Outdoor Acrylic looking good is to brush off dirt before it becomes embedded, and to wipe up spills soon after they happen. The quicker a spill is cleaned, the easier it is to remove.
Spills and stains
- Blot — do not rub — liquid spills with a clean, dry cloth.
- For oil-based spills, apply an absorbent such as corn starch, then remove it with a straight edge.
- Spray on a mild cleaning solution of soap and water.
- Rinse the fabric thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
- Air dry.
Removable outdoor upholstery
Hand washing: soak the fabric in a solution of 1/4 cup mild soap per gallon of lukewarm water. Use a sponge or very soft bristle brush to lightly agitate the stain, rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue, and allow the fabric to air dry.
Machine washing: some removable casings can be machine washed — consult the furniture manufacturer before removing a casing, as cushion construction varies. Close all zippers, then machine wash in cold water on the delicate cycle with a normal amount of mild laundry detergent. For severe mold or mildew, add 1 cup of bleach. Allow the fabric to air dry.
Care guidance supplied by the manufacturer of this collection. Bleach is specified here for remediating existing mold or mildew in a wash cycle; it is not a routine disinfection procedure. For a project that requires repeated chemical disinfection, contact us at (336) 887-3101 and we will request the current documentation for the exact fabric before you specify it.
