Product Details

Roadhouse is our old-world leather — a heavier-grained, distressed top-grain hide with a soft hand and the kind of character that refined, smooth leathers can't fake. A two-tone tipping and crackle effect gives every hide light-and-dark movement across the surface, so finished seating looks broken-in and lived-with from day one. If you're building for a restaurant, a lodge-style living room, a bar, or an RV interior that needs warmth instead of gloss, this is the hide.

Rated for commercial seating. Roadhouse passes California TB 117-2013 and UFAC/NFPA 260 Class 1, making it suitable for hospitality and contract seating specs as well as residential use. (It does not carry an FAR 25.853 burn certificate — for aviation interiors, use our Slipstream Aviation Leather.)

  • Distressed top-grain leather with tipping and crackle effect — premium South American hides
  • Old-world, broken-in look; deliberate light/dark variation across each hide
  • 3.00–3.25 oz (1.2–1.4 mm) — substantial upholstery weight
  • Chrome tanned, 100% aniline drum dyed, protected finish
  • Certifications: California TB 117-2013, UFAC/NFPA 260 Class 1
  • Hospitality, contract, residential, and RV interiors
  • Large hides: 52–62 sq ft average — outstanding yield, clean cutting
  • Easy care: wipe clean with a damp cloth

How much is a hide?

Roadhouse hides run 52–62 sq ft — among the largest we stock. Figuring roughly 18 sq ft of usable leather per yard of 54″ fabric, one hide covers about 3–3.5 yards of upholstery material. Use the calculator above to convert a fabric estimate into hides.

Ordering

Roadhouse is sold by the whole hide only and every hide ships free in the US. Because these are natural, one-at-a-time hides, all sales are final — order the $20 sample deck to confirm color and hand before committing to hides. A note on natural leather

Roadhouse is a natural product finished in dye lots. Color can vary slightly from hide to hide and from what your monitor renders — and because the distressed tipping and crackle effect is applied to natural grain, the light/dark character varies across and between hides. That variation is the point of this leather, not a defect. Hide sizes fall within the stated range but are not identical. We strongly recommend confirming color with the $20 sample deck — all 14 colors on real leather swatches — before ordering hides.
