Frequently Asked Questions
What is the abrasion rating?
500,000 cycles of double rubs under ASTM D4157 — a high figure for a marine vinyl, and well past what a boat seat sees in normal service.
How cold can it get before it cracks?
Cold crack is -32°F under ASTM D1912-10, which covers unheated winter storage in most of the country.
Is it tested for bacteria and mildew?
Yes. AATCC 147-2011 for antibacterial performance, ASTM G21 for anti-mildew and microbial resistance, and ASTM E1428 for pink staining — the stain that ruins light-colored boat seats and cannot be cleaned off because it grows beneath the surface.
Will it stretch around a compound curve?
It is a two-way-stretch vinyl, so plan your stretch direction before cutting. If you need four-way stretch for tight contours, Bayside is our four-way option.
What are the flame ratings?
CAL TB 117-2013, FMVSS 302 and UFAC Class 1. It is not FAR 25.853 rated and is not for aircraft interiors.
