Frequently Asked Questions
What is Sanibel for?
Straightforward marine repairs and replacement seating where a broad practical color line matters more than premium performance. It is a two-way-stretch aftermarket marine vinyl by Morbern.
How durable is it?
No significant wear after 30,000 double rubs with #10 cotton duck on the Wyzenbeek test, with 650 hours of WeatherOmeter UV resistance. That is a repair-and-replace rating rather than a heavy-use one — if the seat takes hard daily service, compare Pinnacle or Breeze.
What flame ratings does it carry?
California TB 117-2013, FMVSS 302 and NFPA 260. It is not FAR 25.853 rated and is not for aircraft interiors.
Why is it cheaper than the other marine vinyls?
It is built for practical repair work rather than premium performance — lower abrasion rating, no cooling technology. For a seat that has to last a decade in full sun, spend the extra on a higher-rated line.
