Choose the Right Starting Point

Plan the whole material cart

Use the Build Your Project guide to estimate vinyl, matched thread, and optional backing sew foam for a boat-seat refresh. The builder is a planning estimate; measure from your pattern pieces before ordering cut material.

Start with a stitched accent panel

Choose from the current CNC stitch-pattern collection. The stitched panel is an upholstery component, not a finished cover or replacement seat. You decide where it fits, then cut and sew it into the cover.

Ask about a custom or multi-panel job

Use the custom quote form for a different size, a new stitch pattern, or a multi-panel project. Carolyn Fabrics supplies and stitches upholstery materials; installation and complete seat-cover construction are not included.

Material Matters

For a boat or pontoon project, choose a vinyl whose current product page lists marine use. Compare the available colors, grain, handling, and product-specific performance information in the marine vinyl collection.

If color or hand matters, order the $5 sample option from the material's product page. Sample shipping is free. Check the sample in the boat's actual light before ordering yardage.

How the Panel Fits the Project

  1. Measure from the pattern pieces. Account for seams, material direction, and a reasonable project allowance.
  2. Choose the stitch pattern. Pick the design that fits the section you plan to build.
  3. Choose the marine vinyl and thread. Match the surrounding material or use a deliberate contrast.
  4. Choose optional backing sew foam. This sits behind the face material to support stitched definition. It is not replacement seat-cushion foam.
  5. Build the cover. Lay out, cut, and sew the flat stitched panel into your seat-cover pattern.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a finished boat-seat cover?

No. It is a flat CNC-stitched upholstery component. It normally must be measured, cut, and sewn into a complete cover.

Does the panel include seat-cushion foam?

No. Optional backing sew foam can be stitched behind the face material to create raised definition. It is not the structural foam inside a seat cushion.

Can I order matching vinyl and thread?

Yes. You can add marine vinyl by the yard and upholstery thread to the same cart. Use the project builder if you want a guided starting estimate.

Can I request a different size or stitch pattern?

Yes. Submit the custom quote form with the project requirements. Carolyn Fabrics will confirm what can be supplied and stitched before the order is accepted.

How should I choose a color?

Use the sample option on the material's product page. Screen color varies, and the boat's light and surrounding materials can change how the color looks.
